Our Mission Statement
Our mission is to serve and assist the homeless by giving them a warm, safe place to sleep, meals and the resources to regain a productive life.  We have kept that tradition alive for 9 years and, with your prayers and support, we will continue to serve.
About the Warming Center:
The Macomb County Warming Center seeks, along with our partner churches, to provide a safe, warm place to spend the night, providing simple but nourishing evening and morning meals for those who would otherwise have no shelter.  The Ray of Hope Day Center, an extended service of the MCWC, will, in collaboration with like-minded organizations, provide local homeless and needy individuals and families with referrals and resources in order to supply opportunities to move into secure, productive lifestyles.
Our Peer Support groups are expanding!

“People who know me know how passionate I am about community work,” said Art Van
Elslander, founder and chairman of Art Van Furniture. “It’s just what we’re supposed to do.
All of us at Art Van Furniture feel the same way. People helping people, that’s what it’s all
about – strengthening lives, making homes, building communities.”

The events also included the debut and introduction of the Art Van Charity Bear, a
cuddly stuffed animal that will retail at all Art Van Furniture locations for $39.95, with
proceeds benefiting any of the 150 Million Dollar Charity recipients. Just specify the

Kevin and I and the board and staff want to very heartily thank all who attended or otherwise contributed to the success of our 6th Spring for the Homeless Thursday evening! We hope you know how very much your support means to us and to our homeless guests, who are also praying for more years of meals, shelter and the assistance they receive at The Ray of Hope.

The evening was a success in every way, including the special blessing that so many expressed that they had a wonderful time! Heading home afterwards, with these happy comments ringing in our ears, gave us a warm feeling and reminded us that funds are not, and have never been, the only reason we host the “Spring” every year.

With my love and prayers,
Kathy Goodrich
